RARE 1918 WW1 Harley Davidson Motorcycle Brigade Camp Dodge, Fort Dodge, Iowa
This is a rare postcard of the Camp Dodge WW1 Army "Motor-Cycle" Brigade with soldiers on Harley-Davidson motorcycles with sidecars. Camp Dodge was located near Fort Dodge, Iowa. This was a relatively new type of military brigade, referred to as "Motor Mobile Infantry, " but the army found many ways to utilize motorcycles during the war - some had machine guns strapped onto the sidecars, some served as ambulances, some led convoys, and others dispatched messages. FYI - "zipsdm" are watermarks to protect the image from digital piracy and not printed onto the actual postcard.
Condition: The condition is good for a postcard of its age; it still has good color. It does have light creases, and the corners are a little worn, but these don't distract from the overall appeal. Subject: WWI Army "Motor-Cycle" Brigade on Harley-Davidson sidecar motorcycles.
