SUBJECT: Airmobile Techniques and Procedures. TO: Commanders and Staff Officers.APO US Forces 964.90. The development of Airmobile Techniques and Procedures is, and must remain, a dynamic process. It is essential that certain of these be standardized throughout the Division to insure common under-standing, to facilitate rapid tailoring of forces and to increase our responsiveness on each operation.
This booklet contains the techniques and procedures which have proven effective during airmobile operations in Vietnam. They are considered to be sound, workable and worthy of standardization. Effective upon receipt, this booklet will be used as a standard guide for training and operational SOP's. We must continue to seek better ways of doing things. Periodic revision of this booklet is planned to keep pace with the accumulation of knowledge. Unit commanders are encouraged to submit recommendations for changes whenever they are deemed to be necessary.
