Offered is an original World War One era production US Military issue Kerr NoBuckl sling manufactured for use with the Model 1917 and Springfield Model 1903 rifles. These slings were also observed on Krag rifles. This sling is particularly interesting for a number of reasons. It not only made it through World War One but also through World War Two and beyond.
It remained in military service at least through the Korean War era, in that it was dyed OD green, mildew resistant treatment (MRT) marked in February, 1955, and the brass hardware was parkerized (the nice, early dark parkerization). It is complete and in spectacular, as pictured, condition with no rips, tears or staining. While I don't claim to have seen it all, I have seen a lot and this is the only such example I have encountered. It has been in my collection for quite a while and it will be far more interesting on someone's rifle than it is tucked away in one of my overstuffed drawers or shelves. Original Kerr NoBuckl slings have grown scarce and this interesting example would be very difficult to upgrade.
