Seven Pillars of Wisdom: A Triumph, by T. Lawrence, Colonel, RAF ("Lawrence of Arabia"). First Trade Edition, 1st Impression w/ pg. Hardcover, original cloth binding, w/out DJ. First "General Circulation" (Trade) Edition, 1st Impression of 1st Printing, w/ pg. 10" x 7.75" x 2 672 pp. Synopsis: Autobiographical account of the exploits and deeds of Col. Lawrence in the First World War, relating to the Arab Revolt thru the capture of Damascus, on behalf of the British military. Basis of the film, Lawrence of Arabia. This example is a true first print, confirmed by error on pg. 20 listing illustration "A Forced Landing" on pp. CONDITION is GOOD+, no dust jacket. Book is on the upper side of Good condition, original owner's name to ffep in ink (dated 1935). Front and back hinges starting at pastedowns / endpapers, but binding remains fully intact & secure, just showing webbing. Binding is sound and square, doesn't lean, no loose leaves or signatures.
Boards and spine are age-toned and darkened, but gilt titles remain complete and in good condition. Crown and tail of spin are crunched somewhat, both frayed at extremities. Boards are straight, no warping, little staining, corners bumped slightly. Superficial dampstain (dark blue-gray) to bottom fore-edge corner of text block, does not bleed within or affect text (see pictures). Illustrations and text block otherwise slightly age-toned with some mild foxing in places, but remains in very good and legible condition throughout.
