This is a solid silver trench watch dating to approximately 1914. Was recently serviced and has been worn daily.
The dial is perfectly preserved. The glass polishes up perfectly. The hinge to the rear is damaged, but clips on and off easily. There is an incredible history to this watch from my research. Of the first wrist worn watches. Also one of the first watches to have a black face. The story being that during WW1 officers found it more efficient to strap watches to their wrists, opposed to using a pocket watch.
The black face helped camouflage. These include a 1951 Gold Rolex precision, a 2005 Omega Speedmaster Moon Watch and a 1970's Gold Cartier Tank.
