Offered here are three Imperial German/post-WWI era wound badges being the rarer "cut out" variation. Like the US Purple Heart medal, the German "Verwundetenabzeichen" was awarded to soldiers who had been wounded in combat with an enemy force. It was instituted by Kaiser Wilhelm II on March 3rd 1918 and was given to any member of the German armed forces who qualified. The order of awards are as follows.
3rd Class (black): between one to two injuries. 2nd Class (silver): between three to four injuries.1st Class (gold): five injuries or more. Based medal dealer for my own personal collection. This is a good opportunity for a medal or WWI collector to obtain a trio of matching badges in each class, hoping to sell them together! The level of detail on these awards is stunning particularly on the gold badge. If closer and clearer photos are needed please DM me for some.
