WWI uniform of Walter Hazel, born in England, immigrated to America and died in 1992. 87th Division shoulder sleeve insignia of wool felt constructed in four layers, two color acorn on green leaf on red circle. And 335th Artillery Company F. Artillery PFC rank chevron, one overseas chevron in bullion and honorable discharge chevron. Tunic is of khaki wool and has several areas of moth tracking which look like white spots of discolor, no major holes.
Lining shows lots of wear, seam separations at sleeve openings. Matching trousers have a few holes and some buttons missing at the cuffs. Overseas cap included, that doesn't really match except for the lining. Uniform is identified through provenance, included is a letter from the original collector who acquired it from the family.
Also some more research info on Walter Hazel and his immigration in the early 1900's. There are no names in uniform. Has Baltimore tailor's label and faded out tag in inside pocket. Not the most attractive uniform by far, but it is identified, which is something collectors don't find every day.My price is, what it is. If you think it's too high, then keep watching, I may lower price or I may not. In short, I don't respond to offers.
