For sale here is a great looking US WW1 Army Enlisted Medical 3rd 3 Corps Uniform With Jacket & Pants. This is a real beauty. Unfortunately, neither the pants or the jacket are named. Both the jacket and pants are made from khaki cotton. Both are worn, soiled, and have some staining, but are solid and have a great look.
The jacket's left shoulder features a 3 corps patch with a heavily toned silver bullion center and blue wool felt arms. The patch is attached with white victory or cross stitching.
The lower left sleeve features 2 heavily toned bullion overseas stripes that is also attached with a white cross stitch. The wool edges of the overseas stripes show some damage to the felt and stitching. It does appear that there was a wound or discharge chevron on the right sleeve at one point, but this appears to have been removed, and there is some water staining around it.
It almost looks as though the chevron left an impression on the jacket and someone tried to spot clean this away. The jacket also has a very nice WW1 Victory Medal on the wearer's left breast pocket that features the Meuse Argonne and Defensive Sector bars. You can tell that this medal has been on there for a very long time. The jacket features screw back collar devices with a US National Army on the right collar and Medical Caduceus on the left collar.
The jacket itself is made of khaki cotton canvas material with brown hard rubber buttons. All of the buttons are present, matched, and they are attached with rings. The jacket does not have any rips, holes, or tears, but it does show considerable wear, dust, period soiling, with a few small stains and light discoloration. After photographing, i found a maker's tag by Alvin Greif dated July 11, 1917, in the lower right pocket. The inside of the jacket has no name or tags, but there are some pattern marks on the fabric panels of the jacket. The pants are also made of khaki cotton canvas and are complete with all silver metal US Army buttons and laces. The pants also have no rips, holes, or tears, but there is plenty of wear and soiling. It appears to me that the front of the pants have quite a bit of blood staining to them. These stains along with other wear soiling suggest that these were worn on duty.
The back of the wearer's right leg has a considerable dark hanger stain. Again, the trousers are complete, solid, and look great, but they have been heavily worn and show soiling and staining. This is a great looking uniform with some nice bullion and a great medal. This will make a great addition to any collection. The measurements are below for your convenience.Top to Bottom(W/ Collar): 30. Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have. Please take a look at my other great items!
