The Mackinaw was authorized originally for drivers but was widely worn by anyone who could get one. When the US Army recognized a need for Mackinaw coats contracts went out to many small suppliers, who produced a wide variety of minor differences in their coats. These coats were initially authorized only for drivers but photos show that they were widely popular in the AEF. Available Sizes: 38"-40"-42"-44"-46.
