Offered is 1 x rare German WW1 soldiers/officer's 1914 iron cross 2nd class 43mm wide with light patina to two piece frame with magnetic black centre and the cross with a length of ribbon for wear. A lovely WW1 produced piece, showing very good pebbling to the central core. The Iron Cross - (Eisernes Kreuz) bravery military decoration was established by King Frederick William III of Prussia and was for the first time awarded on the 10th of March 1813 for Gallantry in Battle in the war against Napoleon.

This first Iron Cross awarded 1813 had the upper central letter's " FW " for Frederick III (Friedrich Wilhelm). Please view our guide on spotting fake militaria. We list militaria and coins weekly.
