World War I Boston Shepards Store Female Rifle Club Military Parade WWI

See our zoomed in photos. During World War I over hundred women employees of the Shepard Norwell stores created a all female rifle club. Some are seen here marching in a parade in Boston. Newspapers of the time stated They are ready to take their place in Uncle Sam's preparedness ranks.

Armed with regulation military rifles and custom uniforms and is training weekly to be able to take some active part in the defense of the country it need arises. The club is the only one of its type in the country. Approximately 8 x 10 inch antique vintage photograph, some pin holes, cracking and folds. Some additional wear from use age storage and transport.
