This is an excellent solid gold military WW1 trench watch. Its all original , a nice 1916 Birmingham dated period piece from the great war , The dial is good apart from a crack at 11 and 4 that cant be seen unless you look for them but are there. The watch has been serviced & sets , winds and works fine and its keeping good time. However one set and wound the stem is loose so may go back to setting mode , it does not come out but it may set the time whilst wearing so needs attention or re-house the movement , or possibly put a tighter crown on it.
The rear case has some dents associated with more fragile gold case but the hinges are fine and it shuts as it should The Dennison 9ct case is a lot rarer than the silver ones and not too many were made they were also used in Longines and Zenith watches of the period. The Rode movement is excellent and running strong It is a must for the WW1, Military or trench watch collector Its a real beauty that would be an excellent gift or present for that WW1 fan & it measures 36mm across 32mm across without the crown and 39 mm lugs to lugs. This is an excellent looking trench watch.
