Has a P 29 stamp on outside top. Have seen this many times on WW1 Austrian helmets, the meaning of which I do not know.
Complete liner minus the pad cushions. All three sections of liner have writing in ink on them but are very faint and hard to read or photograph. Three of the liner "fingers" are missing the grommet and one " finger" has pulled away with a staple used to hold other "finger" secure. Black shoelace string for liner cord is most likely not original to period. A 1 1/2 bead of silicone glue was used to keep separated section of leather liner firmly to liner band. Those last three items are the only negatives about this helmet. Minor compared to what you have here.Certainly one of the nicer helmets you will ever see for sale. Please view photos as they are part of the description.
