WW1 British Army RAMC Medical Optometrist Trial Lens & Spectacles Box Set. Genuine army issue optometrist trial lens set as used by Royal Army Medical Corps personnel to trial lenses on British troops to determine the type of spectacle lenses they require during the First World War. The set is an example which includes trial spectacles and all lenses present and in good order. The box contains 120 lens of various sizes which are divided into three types: spherical concave, cylinders and spherical convex. A type of lens is stored in its own section in the box with the name of each type stamped to the edge. Box features a nice aged patina, hook securing clasps and a brass manufactures plaque to the top which reads: A. C, government issue broad arrow with the letter I underneath, 1913 date and No13 which would appear to denote the set number. Please look at my other items for more militaria and collectables.
