Offered is a British or Australian Army First World War Machete with Scabbard. Features a composite wood set of grips, riveted in place to tang. The machete blade measures 37.5cm long and is maker marked to Samuel & Kitchin, dated 1917 with broad arrow stamp to forte.
The protective finish is still present in patches, with use and sharpening to blade edge. The blade is housed in the original elephant leather scabbard, with grip ties and maker marked/stamped Timbers 1917.
