WW1 BRITISH STEEL HELMET COMPLETE & ORIGINAL

A very nice WW1 British Army Steel helmet in fine condition. It has the original period factory (lightly textured) paint which shows age & wear, please see pics. There are a couple of very slight, small, shallow dents near the top, please study pictures. Stamped on the underside rim is F.

Firth & Sons Ltd of Sheffield (the steel suppliers). The number 7 referring to the'batch' used. The liner is in fine (well used) condition & has the standard red Brodie stamping on the inside.

The felt oval cushion to the crown has no rubber'doughnut' underneath making this the early pattern. There is very slight mothing to the felt in a couple of places (hardly seen). The size stamp to the leather liner strap is "7".

The chinstrap is all good & strong (no repairs). A very fine British helmet.
