WW1 BRITISH STEEL HELMET COMPLETE & ORIGINAL

A WW1 British Steel helmet in super condition. It has the original period factory (lightly textured) paint which shows age & wear, please see pics. Stamped on the underside rim is B. Beardmore & Co Ltd of Glasgow, a very rare stamp of the the steel suppliers.

(The numbers referring to the'batch' used). There are no dents to the shell. The liner is in excellent condition & has the standard red Brodie stamping on the inside. The felt oval cushion to the crown has no rubber'doughnut' underneath making this the early pattern. It still retains most of the very seldom found (very fragile) paper instruction label at the crown, unusual to find on an early model helmet. There is no mothing to the felt. The size stamp to the leather liner strap is "7".

The chinstrap is all good & strong however does have a repair at one end, (pics 10 & 11). A very fine early British helmet. A, Canada & most of rest of planet.....
