WW1 custom marriage XL 44mm trench watch Original shrapnel guard & 8 Day parts

This is a very nice looking extra large nickel "marriage" trench watch. It has original XL nickel case, original WW1 era "8 Days" dial and hands and original WW1 era patented "shrapnel guard" metal cover. The watch is fitted with a later hand wound movement probably 50s? It looks great being an extra large case it it very cool It is setting , winding and working beautifully , keeping good time as the movement was new old stock and never used, the movement does move a little in the case if you move the crown , but fine to wear and working perfectly.

It measures 40mm without the crown , 44mm with, x 44mm lugs to lugs , it also sits around 15mm high so a good height too. It comes on a later black leather strap it would look perfect on a nice "cuff" style leather band, however its ready to wear & enjoy as it is and looks beautiful, something different for the WW1 or trench watch fan.
