WW1 German Infantry Pickelhaube c1914. The pickelhaube has a leather skull with brass fittings and brass coloured painted metal front rim.
It has its original brass metal helmet plate is showing the Imperial Eagle and the FR for Friedrich Rex. It has cockades which could be Baden or possibly Lippe.
Several of the cockade types are rather similar so its hard to tell exactly which area they are from. The helmet has its leather liner but is missing the connecting string. There is no chin strap. The helmet measures 16.6cm (6 ½ inches) side to side and 25cm (9 ¾ inches) front to back (rim to rim) and has an inner circumference of 55cm (21 ½ inches).
The helmet is in a decent condition with general wear but no major damages. There is some paint loss to the rims and the odd scratch, area of light wear to the skull. The back rim has come partially unstitched. The item "WW1 German Infantry Pickelhaube c1914" is in sale since Sunday, May 19, 2019.
