I have a full top end for a late Remington UMC 1911. The slide would be correct for pistols in the +/- 20,000 production at ser# 21676. The rest of the parts are correct throughout production. These are from a destroyed pistol that was parts salvaged many years ago. If you know Remington UMC, then you know how hard it is to find good condition, original finish parts.
This was because the finish was so delicate (akin to the Colt "Black Army" finish). Many of these pistols have pitting. A lot of that is due to Navy issued sidearms. The salt water spray ate at them. It's not uncommon to see "rust" in the finish of the pistol (also in the metal, but in the finish itself). The barrel still retains rifling and will shoot ok.Again, as most collectors know, barrel condition does not count very much anymore. Most of the collectors just want to see proper markings and many do not even care if it has the correct barrel. They are more concerned with the slide/frame.
Unless it's a piece worth several thousand dollars it just doesn't seem to matter as much some of us are spoiled though! Anyway, this will complete a UMC frame and give you a complete pistol. Don't expect brand new 100 year old parts. I have a lot more!WW1, WW2, Colt, Remington rand, 1911, 1911A1, US&S, Ithaca, Barrel, Slide, Bushing, remington UMC, Singer.
