WW1 SWISS ASTRA QUARTER REPEATER GUN METAL POCKET WATCH WORKING MILITARY ANTIQUE

This fantastic gun metal pocket watch measures 51mm (2) across x 15mm. 5 and weighs 110 grams. It dates to the early 1900's World War 1 era and is cased in gun metal with gold plated mounts with the movement marked Astra 10090, it is a quarter repeater striking pocket watch and when the leaver to the side is slid up wards it strikes the hour plus a quick double strike for each quarter after that so 11:50 would be 11 single strikes followed by 3 sets of double strikes.

It would have been the type of watch an officer would have taken to the front and it has clearly been stored in a drawer for many years and is in good antique condition with some opening scratch marks to the inner case (photo9) and keeps good time and strikes the hours and the quarters as it should.
