WW1 Tank Leather Can Helmet. A nice example of a First World War leather tank helmet. The helmet is made from a series of leather pieces held together by metal studs.

There are four small ventilation holes to each side of the helmet. The helmet is complete with its original leather liner and chin strap. The liner measures 5 1/2 by 7 1/2 the helmet measures 18cm (7 inches) by 18cm (11 inches) with a height of 15cm (6 inches). The seam to the top of the helmet is a little damaged where the leather has torn away from the studs. There is some rusting to the studs, some marks and general light wear to the helmet.

The leather is quite stiff as to be expected. The liner is in good order with no damages, again the leather is a little stiff. Overall for a piece of this age that has seen action, the helmet is in a really nice condition with no major problems.
