WW 1 WWI Austro-Hungarian M17 Stahlhelm Steel Helmet withliner. Nice. Orig

Very nice and rare original WW1 Austro-Hungarian M17 Steel Helmet complete with liner. It retains about 75% of its original field-grey paint. Has both extended ventilation side lugs and three liner retaining rivets.

The interior features three pad leather liner with steel retaining band intact. All three pads are presented and still have their original horse hair stuffing. Chin strap is missing, but supposed to be mounted directly to the shell.

Looks like there are maker's and size stamps on the rim, but it is hard to read. Looks to be size about 66.

Inside the shell there are rust features, not deep, the shell is very strong. There are no any dents.

The paint on the heads of the rivets almost gone which is easy to fix. Other than that despite 100 years old the condition of the helmet is excellent and could be perfect addition to your collection.
