WWI Model 1889 German Prussian Infantry Officers Sword with Scabbard. Ricasso is marked with scales and an "ACS" which stand for Alex Coppel of Solingen, Germany. The steel guard and grip are tight and complete there is a slice to the grip is one spot. The twisted wire is also complete but slightly loose.
Missing the cypher on the grip. The leather finger loop is fully intact but flaking. The folding guard doesn't open completely, it does come close and the guard overall has some rust. The double fullered blade is straight, unsharpened but the tip is sharp, no nicks, has what looks and feels like dried oil scattered throughout the grooves with minor age spots. The unpainted scabbard is solid with one minor dent on an edge, scattered nicks and age spots throughout. Length of the blade measures 33 1/2" (13/16" wide x 3/16" thick spine), length of the sword is 39 1/8", and overall in the scabbard it is 40 3/8.
