WWI German 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class, Pinback, S-W, Sy & Wagner

An original WWI 1914 Iron Cross marked on pin S-W for Sy & Wagner jeweler. The details on the core are high quality and the beading is gorgeous. Cross has a beautiful silver patina and core paint is 98 percent. Near mint example except for two partial cracks in core above and below the W. This was a common issue with early war sand cast iron cores. The fine cores sometimes cracked from the heat of assembling the medal, or from age.
