WWI GERMAN M-1916 DUCK BILL STEEL TRENCH HELMET withLINER

This is a very nice First World War German Model 1916 steel, duck bill trench helmet in very good condition. The outer shell is free from dents or rust and has 95+% of the original gray/green exterior paint remaining.

The interior left skirt is stamped, GBN 64 for the firm of Gebrueder Bing A. The interior dome is stamped, BR 169. The helmet is complete with the original Model 1917 3 pad liner and metal band. The liner pins are factory tight and have not been removed since the helmet left the factory. The three leather liner pads are present, pliable and have the original horse hair padding still in place.

All the fingers are undamaged except for one that has been repaired. In addition, there is a piece of reinforcing leather at the front pad where it meets the metal band. The leather has been treated with some type of preservative to keep it supple. The chinstrap is not present.
