Wwi German/reichswehr Stahlhelm Visor Hat

This is a very nice World War I/Reichswehr visor hat that is in excellent condition. It is constructed of gray/green wool with a medium green wool hatband and piped in green at the crown. The visor is the short, First World war type with very minor crazing to the top and characteristic checked pattern on the underside. The black leather chinstrap is undamaged and held in place by a smooth domed button at each side. There is a metal national rosette affixed to the front of the cap on the crown and one on the hatband.

Between these is pinned a metal Stahlhelm membership badge that is maker marked on the backside with, F. The interior of the hat is lined in gray satin and ink stamped by the maker Mutzenfabrik Christian Kirschner, Munchen. There is some light mothing at the rear of the hat that is not overly distracting and unseen from the front. A beautiful and very scarce example.
