WWI IMPERIAL GERMAN CUIRASSIER LOBSTER TAIL HELMET-ORIGINAL

Very good condition original WWI Imperial German Cuirassier Lobster Tail helmet. Metal body has nice bright finish, as do the brass parts. Nice Prussian eagle badge on the front. Has the German national colors cockade on the right side and the Bavarian cockade on the left side. Complete with leather chinstrap that is soft and supple with no damage.

Inside of helmet has green paint showing some scattered flaking. Features a leather and linen liner. Leather part is soft and supple with some normal wear. Cloth part shows some fraying. Helmet is marked DAMASCHKE inside the crown and dated 1916. A hard to find WWI German lobster tail helmet that will make a fine addition to your collection. Have been told that this helmet has had Post WWI work done to it including; paint, cockade, liner and chin strap.
