WWI M1889 German Prussian Infantry Officers Steel Hilt Sword withScabbard

Odel 1889 German Prussian Infantry Officers Sword with Scabbard. The steel solid folding guard and the small piece attached to the grip have the Wilhelm II emblems on them. The guard is tight, the wood grip is solid but the black paint has almost completely worn off, the two sets of twisted wire wrap are complete and very slightly loose. The leather finger loop is mostly gone, just a small piece of leather is attached to the guard.

The double fullered blade is straight, unsharpened (tip is sharp), a couple nicks along the edge, and has age spots scattered throughout. The black enameled scabbard is solid, no dents, has some light paint loss and surface rust on the lower third towards the drag, also the throat piece is stuck on the sword.

Length of the blade measures 32" (15/16" wide x 5/16" thick spine), length of the sword is 37 3/4", and overall in the scabbard it is 38 3/4. Check out my other War items!!
