WWI M1889 German Prussian Infantry Officers Sword withScabbard-PDL Solingen

WWI Model 1889 German Prussian Infantry Officers Sword with Scabbard. Ricasso is marked with P. The fixed guard clamshell and the small piece attached to the grip have the Wilhelm II emblems on them.

The guard has a minor wiggle, the rayskin grip is solid and complete, and the double strands of twisted wire wrap are complete but slightly loose. The leather finger loop is complete and attached. The underside of the guard has what looks like a "C" with a crown over it, this stamp appears several times on the sword, twice on the underside of the guard, once on the ring below the grip/above the finger loop, on the pommel cap, on the piece below the pommel cap, and it also looks to be on both sides of the drag on the scabbard, and in the throat piece. The double fullered blade is marked on the spine with a "W" with a crown over it, "14", and another "C" with a crown over it, it is straight, not sharpened, it has been oiled (not by me), and it's clean except for some very light age spots scattered throughout the lower half of the blade. The black enameled scabbard is solid, no dents, and scattered paint loss throughout with light surface rust.

Length of the blade measures 32" (7/8" wide x 3/16" thick on blade edge side), length of the sword is 38", and overall in the scabbard it is 38 3/4. Check out my other War items!!
