WWI M1915 French Army Artillery Adrian Helmet from AFS Driver Lt. Bown's Estate

WWI M1915 French Army Artillery Adrian Helmet from AFS Driver Lt. ARTIFACT: This is a circa World War I M1915 French Army Artillery "Adrian" helmet. It comes to us from the estate of Lieutenant William Edwin Bown, a 397 T. (397 Transport Militaire Unité, Groupe Hémart) driver from East Aurora, New York who served in France with the unit for four months. Bown eventually settled in Exeter, New Hampshire.

The helmet is painted in blue and has a large bomb insignia upon the front. An American Field Service badge of Lieutenant Bown's is also for sale separately (please see link at bottom of page for information). One of the men standing in front of the vehicle in the above photo is Lieutenant Bown (photo not for sale with the badge or helmet). VINTAGE: Circa 1915 (World War I). SIZE: Approximate Large: head opening is about 9" by 7-3/4".

CONSTRUCTION/MATERIALS: Painted steel, leather strap. ATTACHMENT: Chin strap with buckle. ITEM NOTES: This is from a foreign militaria collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months.
