This is an extremely fine World War I Distinguished Service Medal that remains in excellent condition. The planchet is with a beautiful age toned patina and flawless blue enamel on the obverse side.

It is suspended from its original ribbon and mounted on a full wrap broach. The reverse is un engraved and the rim unnumbered. The medal is housed in its original maroon domed presentation case with the letters, D.

In gold leaf at the lower part of the lid. The interior of the lid is with an ivory colored satin pad and the bed pad is of ivory colored satin as well. The push button catch and hinge are both fully functional and hold the lid tightly closed. This remains a very attractive example in excellent condition.
