Otherside has US & the serial number (see photos). Blade shows average/heavy use/wear and is mostly graying overall (see photos). The blade appears sharpened long but doesn't have much of a sharp edge now. Pommel, crossguard & backstrap are browning overall (see photos). Oil darkened dark brown wood grips fit well and are clean overall with no cracks or losses.
Spring loaded release button is present above the crossguard and works properly. Canvas covered scabbard is age soiled overall and has a stenciled number & name to one side (see photos).
There are no stitching issues and the scabbard has an intact leather tip (see photos). Top fitting is complete with belt hook (see photos). This is a right out of the woodwork early WWI US Model 1905 Bayonet. Really has a nice "been there - done that" combat look. Great opportunity to add to a bayonet collection or to display with your WWI Springfield rifle. Please check my other auctions for the WWI Winchester rifle scope found with this bayonet.
