WWI US NAVY MODEL 1917 BOARDING CUTLASS SWORD With SCABBARD

Very good condition and guaranteed original WWI US Navy Model 1917 Boarding Cutlass. This sword is the scarce first pattern with a U. Marked blade, solid guard, and wooden grips. Later pattern had plastic grips, fingered guard, and unmarked blade. 24 ½blade has original bright finish with some scattered brown and gray, edge has a few nicks. Remaining metal finish is mostly brown. Reverse of guard is stamped 140. Wood grips have original finish and a good tight fit with no damage. Fitted in correct original leather scabbard that has steel tip.

Leather is soft and supple with some normal wear. Stitching and staples are nice and tight.
